A Home Away from Home in Rocky Harbour
We purchased Meeting Hill Cottages as a retirement project during the 2018 Winter. Since then, we have grown to include an additional 2-bedroom cottage and have built a brand-new facility that hosts a three-bedroom unit upstairs, a one-bedroom unit, as well as an office space!
We have made several changes to represent our vision of what a cottage should offer. As a guest, you get to enjoy all-new bedding, towels, and pillows! Last season, we introduced Welcome Baskets in each unit, filled with goodies. They were a hit with our guests and we hope you enjoy the contents and get the warm welcome you deserve!
This season, we continue to grow our services to guests, while phasing out the Meeting Hill Cottages name and transition to our new name Ebb & Flow Cottages & Suites.
We would love the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the industry. It would be, “A home away from home.”
Laurie & François are two retired members of the Royal Canadian Navy, having served onboard several of her Majesty’s ships, over a 28-year period. May and Laurie are sisters and May is your on-site manager and super hostess!

Location & Nearby Attractions
Our Cottages are so friendly and inviting, you might never want to leave them. Just in case you decide to go out and explore, here are some great things to do nearby.
Woody Point: Take the water taxi to visit Woody Point and spend the day looking around at this lovely town.
Western Brook boat tour: The landlocked fjord of Western Brook Pond is a rare sight, especially in our part of the world. Carved by glaciers, and home to plenty of waterfalls and wildlife, it’s worth the trip alone. Call 1 888 458 2016 to book
Bars & Lounges
The Anchor Pub: a great place to enjoy pub grub and a beer, and socialize with friends old and new. Enjoy the kitchen party at the Anchor pub. Dave Shears is singing and is very funny. This is a great time to get “Screeched in”. A true Newfoundland tradition.
Charming and unique, this little house is very warm and welcoming. We had great time at Gros Morne and felt really at home in this house. It has everything you could think of to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Hosts were very responsive, and even texted us during the stay to check whether we needed anything. The location is great, very close to all Gros Morne trails.
The Naval Governor’s house is a great ‘base camp’ for adventures in and around Gros Morne. A lovely little place that is well appointed and has everything you might need!
We had such a wonderful time in Rocky Harbour, and our stay in the Naval Governor’s cottage set the stage for a perfect time in Gros Morne. Very clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. Having a washer/dryer was great since we hiked in the rainy weather every day, and having a kitchen with EVERYTHING we needed to prepare meals was so helpful. Laurie and May were also great with recommendations and being available to help. You can tell they genuinely care about your experience and want you to feel right at home!
This one-bedroom unit is the middle unit of three in front, with others on either side. It is conveniently located on Main St N. It was very clean and comfortable, had a well-appointed kitchen with a BBQ outside, and a large bathroom with a bathtub/shower. We enjoyed sitting out on the verandah, watching the sunset and the tide coming and going. The welcome basket of treats was much appreciated, as was the house binder with local menus and activities.
A great cottage and location. Lots of little extras that we quite enjoyed, especially the treat basket and bottled water that came in handy for hiking. Next time we visit Newfoundland we will be back!
